Family hike into Moss Brae Falls May 14th of 2011

Despite the many many days of rain, our little family ventured out on May 14th 2011 for a little excursion/hike to Mossbrae and Hedge Creek Falls in Dunsmuir, Ca.  Took along a few friends and wished the whole time that Daddy could have been with us...  Also ventured a tiny bit farther north to show the kids the mineral spring and let them get a taste!  I hadnt been there since my Father took me as a child...  Enjoy the pics :)

Right half of the Falls...

Left half of the falls...

Silly attempt at a 3 image stitch using a wide angle lens.  Oh and then a little warping to try and fix it in Photoshop...  I already have plans to go back and do it right!  I just have to get that new tripod ordered :)
Any excuse will do for me lol

Jordans prize Lady Bug that she rescued off of the rail...

Little Bear patiently waiting...

If you have ever hiked to Mossbrae Falls then you have most likely encountered many of these :)

Look Mom! Hobo's!!!  Too bad mom had the camera set up for some motion blur so when the hobos came cruising by she panicked and couldnt get the camera settings changed fast enough (ie the blurred hobos) oh well :)

Our friend James and Abbie came along...

Jordan and her friend Gretta Knight...

Just tossin rocks mom...

What?

Uncle Jerrod and Hunter...

The infamous trussel to the north... must cross to get to the mineral spring, where the Historical Shasta Springs Resort used to reside...

Boy do I really dislike crossing this trussel :(

Especially with broken timbers holding the walkway together :(

The mineral springs...

Mmmmm mmmm good :)

And finally the walk back to the truck...

Collecting treasures...

Only a boy, right?

No way were ALL these little greasy rr treasures coming home with us!  So we called it a k.p. day lol  I thanked the boys for being so considerate :)
